Ingredients
  

Biscuit Base

  • 1 package Fresh Buttermilk Biscuits Store-bought or homemade.

Sausage and Gravy

  • 1 pound Savory Sausage Pork, turkey, or plant-based.
  • 2 cups Creamy Gravy Homemade or store-bought.

Cheese

  • 1 cup Shredded Cheese Optional, cheddar or mozzarella.
  • 1 cup Milk Whole milk preferred.
  • 4 large Eggs Can reduce for a lighter version.
  • 1 tablespoon Baking Powder Ensure it's fresh.
  • to taste Seasoning Salt, pepper, garlic powder.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Gather all your ingredients.

Cooking Sausage

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook your sausage until browned and crumbly.

Making Gravy

  • Add flour to the cooked sausage, stir for about a minute, then gradually pour in milk, whisking until thickened. Season to taste.

Layering

  • Cut the biscuits into quarters and layer them in a greased casserole dish. Pour the sausage gravy over the biscuits.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until biscuits are golden brown.

Serving

  • Let cool for a few minutes, then serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs or cheese if desired.
